Wasted Time

There is no such thing as wasted breath
But everything you say must come from the heart
"Please listen to me"...I'm hurting now
I guess that could make the perfect start
You see if you care enough to say these words
It's you ...you want to heal
Because these words that you will say
Will tell them, how you truly feel
I really haven't known you long
But your heart sounds like its in pain
To say some word you'd rather not hear
Or even the mention of their name
We all are hurt throughout our time
But please try to understand
I'm just here voicing my point
And trying to lend a helping hand
And I ask you this simple thing
I think you're hurting inside
Don't let anything slip away
If you don't have to say good-bye
Not everything can always be worked out
But it doesn't hurt to try
But remember there is never wasted breath
Just time if you don't try
